On June 24, 2022 Roe V. Wade was overturned with the Dobbs decision, leaving a woman’s ability to access healthcare based on where she lives. Women deserve the right to make their own healthcare decisions no matter where they live. I will continue to fight for Wisconsin women to retain the right to choose.

While the Emancipation Proclamation took effect on New Year’s Day of 1863, there were many enslaved people in the US who were not actually freed until much later. On June 19, 1865, Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas and decreed freedom for about 250,000 enslaved people in the state. The day came to be known as Juneteenth. Today, we continue to recognize the importance of this day for its history and its promise.

June is National Safety Month, and 2026 marks its 30th year. Preventable injuries are one of the leading causes of death in the United States, and workplace safety is an important part of any job.
