New Year, New You?
Being 300+ lbs was mentally and physically exhausting for Francela (a.k.a. Frenchie) and she was determined to make a change.
Frenchie woke up one morning and started walking. First one block then two- she walked and walked and walked and as she walked, she started to read fitness magazines.
She began to cut out articles of workouts and foods and started implementing them in her day. After months of this habit the weight started to come off and she would lose 150lbs.
Her family and friends started to encourage her to become a personal trainer or coach but her mental health wasnât so fit.
She didnât believe in herself and thought her Mexican accent wouldnât be acceptable.
Frenchie came from Mexico when she was in high school. She said, she failed all her classes because she didnât know English and thatâs when the seed of doubt was planted.
One day, someone she loved, showed her how the language barrier doesnât have to stop you.
And Frenchie really wanted to help others achieve their fitness goals so she decided to study and take the test to become a personal trainer. Leaving it all in Gods hands saying, âGod, you lead me. You know the deal.â
Trusting Him, she passed the test and a friend told her of a local gym that was hiring. She applied and got the job. Life was great!
And then COVID happened and the gym had to close and the only thing open was the outdoors.
So a group of ladies decided to meet at the park to workout with Frenchie leading the crew.
The class was fun and it grew in numbers quickly. Thatâs when family and friends started to encourage Frenchie to start her own business. But the self doubt came backâŠ
She just wasnât sure if she could do it.
But through Godâs Grace her family and friends helped her and by the end of 2019 she was in business.
Frenchie believes her community is like a big family. They do more than just workout together. They give to local charities, sign up for events, and support each other on a personal level. She says, they are a big part of why she wakes up every morning and keeps pursuing her dreams.
Youâre welcome to join any of her fitness classes and become part of the âBig Familyâ.
And rememberâŠ.
âHealth is life. It makes you happier. And when you believe in yourself you can achieve anything.â
