The Turk House
07/17/2026
I was over for dinner at my best friend’s house, a couple glasses of sangria later and suddenly I’m moving lamps around, sending her husband to the basement for tables, rearranging picture frames on the wall. I had permission, for the record. It was actually hiiiiighly encouraged.
When I left, she hadn’t spent a dime (her husband is very thankful!!). She just finally had the right pieces in the right places.
In this economy, sometimes you don’t need new things, you need to shop your own house. Pull something from a room that isn’t working, put it somewhere that does.
If a space feels stale, try rearranging it completely before you buy a single thing. You might be shocked at what you already had.

Summer in my camera roll so far 🌞
No place to sit yet, but at least there are pretty things to look at in the formal living room 🤷♀️
- intaglio art linked in my stories
- chest from .moss.decor
- green shade from
- everything else I’ve found at estate sales or antique stores!
I think I’m physically incapable of hanging just one piece of art on a wall.
There must be a stack. Pretty much always?
This is the last empty wall in the foyer and the whole space is feeling miiiiighty close to feeling complete. Well, as complete as a room can ever feel around here! I still need a new light fixture, but we’re getting close!!
I love how all three of these pieces work together. The proportions are perfect, the moodiness of the art paired with the black frames tie them together and add enough contrast to the perfectly busy wallpaper.
The details: The sailboat painting was done by Rob’s grandmother. The portrait came from and the horns were a random antique store find that used to live in our family room before finding a new home in here.
I love when a piece you bought years ago for one space somehow ends up being exactly what another room needed.
Over under on how long it’ll stay like this before I start moving things around again??!

If you’ve been following the foyer journey on my stories, here are a few details of the space 🤍
I think I love this space so much because although it’s tiny, it packs quite the punch with so many of my favorite things. It’s almost like my personality threw up in here but like, in the best way possible…?
Antique mirrors, original art, layered pattern, plates, all my favorite colors and a mix of high and low pieces that I’ve collected over time.
And, y’all know I’m all about balance over here and I think it’s so important to invest in good pieces but also, reuse, repurpose and thrift baby, thrift.
The console table was actually a roadside find from our old neighborhood - it might not be my absolute favorite but it was free and I loveeee free. The Nepalian brackets came from an estate sale, the coral was a flea market find and the majolica plates were thrifted too.
We got the mirror for a steal, but I invested in the lamp shades years ago for our old primary bedroom because I couldn’t stop thinking about them.
And honestly, I think that proves my theory that if you buy what you love, you’ll always find a home for it.
Like everything in my home, I’m sure this room will keep evolving over time and thankfully I still have a couple blank walls… which sounds like the PERFECT excuse to collect more art (hopefully Rob didn’t make it this far in the caption 🤭).

I’ve reallyyyyy been enjoying flowers these last couple of months.
Between my birthday, Mother’s Day and all the springtime activities, I’ve been lucky enough to have the house filled with them and it’s brought me so much joy.
One of my favorite little rituals is going to to fill my containers and flower beds for the season. I’ve planted my favorite, peonies, in my garden bed this year. We had them at the bungalow and I’m hoping they do well here too. 🤞🏼
Also, how come no one told me about double impatiens?! Absolutely stunning!! And perfect for my shady back patio!
Anywho, here’s your friendly reminder to, if you’re like Stuart, stop and stare at the flowers. But you can smell them too 😆

Being this little chicken’s mom is hands down the best thing that has ever happened to me.
It’s better than my wildest dreams, and I dreamed about it for a longggggg time. Thank goodness it all led to her. 💗
📸
i grabbed some cafe curtains for the windows in our kitchen to help create some privacy and also block out some of the heat (single pane windows and cooking in the kitchen are 🥵).
they were a smidge too long for our windows and i wasn’t about to let that stop me from creating the look i wanted.
my dream is do add a brass rod and clips but, this will do for now! all of the supplies i used are linked in my bio or comment “CAFE” and ill send you an dm with all the deets.
👀 a lil glimpse of my latest insta saves.
while I can’t actually make all of these dreams a complete reality (cause like, I can’t redo floors or move walls), I’m sooo excited to do what I can ( 🫣) to turn our little house into a home full of timeless, collected antiques that have a story, affordable knick knacks, pops of bold color (preferably chartreuse and cobalt blue), natural textures and foliage everywhere, layers upon layers and lived-in nooks and crannies.
