Friday, July 10
MBCTA takes great pride in our operation - the Transit side, the Terminal Station side, and since December 2, 2025, the Spirit of Macon Park side.

Our job is to maintain the integrity of our vehicles, our operation, and properties. Those properties include our Broadway campus and the area surrounding our Cherry Street campus - a large swath of land that runs along Fifth ebeyond Poplar Street to Plum Street at one end, and across from Capital City Bank almost to Mulberry Street on the other end.

MBCTA & the Terminal Station appreciate Code Enforcement Sgt. Grant Herndon who spearheaded the entire project of clearing the Poplar Street Tunnel next to the Spirit of Macon Park and on which is painted one of our two Spirit of Macon Murals — and overseeing the erecting signs at both ends of the Tunnel on both sides which clearly state Macon-Bibb County Code Sections 16-5 & 16-6.

The area around the Poplar Street Tunnel is of direct importance to many entities in the areas, specifically:
- Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority Transfer Station & our riders
- Terminal Station - among Macon's most poplar wedding venues & event space
- Terminal Station - Visit Macon Photo Spot
- Spirit of Macon Park
- Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce
- 41NBC
- Visit Macon Photo Spot - Spirit of Macon Mural (Fifth & Poplar)
- Tubman Museum
- GA Sports Hall of Fame
- Murals are a popular photo spot for Terminal Station & Tubman bridal parties

This was a Macon-Bibb team effort! Thank you gentlemen!

During periods of extreme heat, riders are cautioned that high temperatures limit cooling efficiency of our vehicles due to frequent door openings.

Passengers are encouraged to wear light clothing, hydrate, and to sit far away from doors and windows to avoid the immediate rush of hot air from open doors.

To minimize the impact of the extreme heat, MBCTA is implementing a Reasonable Modification for riders when outside temperature exceeds 90°F, permitting riders to bring drinks on vehicles. Beverages must have a secure and leak proof lid.

Riders are responsible for spills and for removing beverage containers. We want you to stay hydrated while helping us protect the integrity of our vehicles.

Thank you for your cooperation and for riding with us!
