I've been working with a couple of great customers on a several different projects who actually have paid support from Geek Squad, but it's pretty obvious they are stretched thin and can't maintain the level of service since Covid.

I've heard recently from a number of sources that Geek Squad's wait time is several weeks for residential computer help.

I recently had a request to help with an older laptop(2015) that had some general slowdown, battery issues, and other odd behavior.

The vast majority of the time these issues can be fixed with some thorough physical cleaning, wiping and restoring the computer(after making sure you've got all of your data backed up).

After that, if issues persist on a 5+ year old PC, it's generally wiser to get a new device(after cloning your drive properly) and repurposing/reselling your old PC.
