Windows 7 support is ending in January 2020, it seems registered copies can still upgrade to Windows 10 at no charge.

The Brother Printer app called Control Center is no longer supported on the latest Mac OS Catalina. Scanning is now done using Image Capture app in Catalina.

When you purchase a new PC don't forget to make sure it has all the latest Windows updates. New PC's will download and install updates automatically while you are working, but can slow it down until they are done.

When you buy a new computer with Windows 8, Microsoft will ask you to create an account. You can create a Microsoft account using your email address, but earlier Windows versions only created a local account with a user name, not an email address. Most people only need the local account.
