EXCELLENT. Slightly stained; 80 degrees; 0.28 feet above pool. Water is partially stained on the South end of the lake. North end of the lake is very murky and brown due to the heavy rains but is clearing up quickly with hot calmer days. Continue to watch for floating debris after heavy rains! Start early in the morning for hybrids and white bass at daylight. Start at the dam, the western and eastern shorelines of the lake in depths of 4-10 feet. Cast spinners and slabs and look for schooling fish close to seawalls and shorelines. After that fish any hump in depths of 8-17 feet throughout the lake to find fish stacked up in schools. Use spinnerbaits like a mepps #4 spinner or drop a slab down to the bottom and work it fast up and down and the fish will hit it immediately. Also throwing out a slab and reeling it back with a slow retrieve is also working well. The evening bite from 5-8 p.m. has also been very good. Hit up seawalls close to points in depths of 7-12 feet and cast rattle traps, spoons or sassy shads to get the Hybrids to bite.The crappie bite has been getting increasingly better. Now that the water is receding target crappie with small jigs in 5-12 feet under bridge pylons or under docks. Quick limits are being reported. EXCELLENT. Stained; 58 degrees; 0.15 feet below pool. White bass are staging in full force for the spring spawn and heading into shallower water, 6-18 feet, and into any shallow creek that has flowing water. Hybrids and white bass continue to be caught deadsticking in 25-35 feet in the mouths of the big creeks. Deadsticking utilizing a thumper and a splasher with deadsticking lures with a 1-1.5 ounce jighead with a tandem hook or jig above it paired with a small plastic fluke. You must keep your drift speeds under .5 mph with the ideal drift being .3 mph utilizing drift socks to keep you slowed down in windy conditions. In the weeks to come hybrids and white bass will continue to migrate to the shallower water from 8-20 feet to spawn and will be easy to find. You may even try trolling a small spinner bait or a hellbender or pet spoon rig at 2 mph in the shallower depths. The crappie bite has picked up in the creeks and inlets in 2-10 feet of water throughout the entire lake. The warm weather will continue to drive these fish shallow to spawn. If you can find a brush pile near a dock you can find them stacked up but most of the crappie have migrated into the creeks or shallow water now. GOOD. Water normal stain; 77-81 degrees; 4.00 feet below pool. Crappie are good, the bite has been real soft but it is picking up quick. Minnows are still the main bait but jigs are making a statement. Brush piles in 13-17 feet of water and boat docks with 5-8 feet have been producing fish. This bite will continue strong until early December. White bass and hybrids are good, they have been schooling in the mornings under birds on flats and points. Once they quit schooling go check a few humps and use silver slabs while casting out and bringing the bait back to the boat. Largemouth bass are good on topwaters early around riprap and shaky head jigs around brush and docks in 8-13 feet. Report by Kyle Miers, Lake Country Outfitters.
