In this life, we are going to have pain and suffering in many ways. Some will be of our own doing, and some will be from external sources.

How we think about what comes to us will determine the outcome we have after the event. In other words, how will the pains and suffering of life change us. We do have control over this part (thinking) of our life, and here are the choices we have:

Passive - we can be victims, "This is just the hand I have been dealt, and whatever comes will come. There is nothing I can do about it."

Bitter -- Unfortunately, the passive mentality of the victim often degenerates into something even worse: a resentment that life should be so unkind and so unfair. In such cases, pain and suffering come to be the source of bitterness and anger.

Transformation -- this is the response which says, “I will do the best I can to do whatever is right, and I will respond to suffering with the dignity of a person made in God’s image.”

From the moment we are born, we start ageing until we reach the point of death in this body - what have you learned to be in your journey?

Paul wrote:
But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. 2 Cor 4:7-10

Again, how are you handling the pains and sufferings of life?

Wisdom has been around for longer than we can even imagine. It was used to create the earth, its surrounding stars and planets, its ecosystem, plants and animals, and humans. We are told in many places where it comes from such as Jas 1:5 we are told... If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.

To receive this wisdom, there are conditions to be met, here is one: (Jas 1:6) But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, and there is a reason. If you have no faith which is being convicted of something that is true because of evidence and testing for yourself, then you will be... "for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind."

If the condition of faith is not met according to the one who made the condition then, "that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways." (Jas 1:7-8)

Wisdom is lacking in many ways today. To get this wisdom, we must ask for it, believe it will come, and take action to prepare ourselves to receive it when it shows up. Paul wrote it like this: "By whom (the Lord) also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; (Rom 5:2-5)

Ask for wisdom, seek it out, and apply it to your life so you and your environment will become better.

In Isaiah, the people are being chastised for the creation and worship of idols. The writer says, To whom then will you liken God, or what likeness compare with him? (Isa 40:18)

Then, the question is presented...
Do you not know? Do you not hear? Has it not been told to you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth? (Isa 40:21)

The truth about God being the creator and lawmaker has been made known to man from the beginning of time as we humans know time.

But an answer is given just so those of that time will be reminded: (Isa 40:22-23) It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them like a tent to dwell in; who brings princes to nothing, and makes the rulers of the earth as emptiness.

With a power like this, I think that when we feel a little weak, a little down, a little like we can not go on with the stresses of this life (or even a lot of any of these three), we should look to Him, have faith in Him be obedient to His teachings and strength will come.

Isa 40:29-31 He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Consider it - pray about it - be blessed

Wisdom: It is as old as dirt.
And like dirt, it does not go away.
When you use dirt wisely, you grow life-giving food.
When you seek wisdom and use it, you produce relationships that have great life.
Make getting and using wisdom a priority in life.
