KLBK First Warning Weather

Update: There is a "slight" (2/5) and a "marginal" (1/5) severe weather risk across the South Plains from late Wednesday afternoon through early Thursday morning. There is a "marginal" (1/5) risk across roughly the northern half of the Rolling Plains. The threats include up to 1.75" hail (golf ball size), up to 70 mph wind gusts and very isolated flooding.

8:46 PM CDT 06/23/2026 - COVER YOUR CARS BROWNFIELD! A severe thunderstorm with a history of producing baseball sized hail (2.75" in diameter) is heading for town. If it maintains its track and intensity, impacts can be expected around 9:25-9:40 PM!

7:02 PM CDT 06/23/2026 - A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for portions of Lubbock and Hale counties until 8:00 PM for the possibility of golf ball sized hail (1.75" in diameter) and 60 MPH wind gusts. Movement is SE @ 15 MPM.
