Red Flag Warnings are in effect today for all of the South Plains, eastern New Mexico and southeastern New Mexico. Elevated to critical fire weather conditions are forecast. NO outdoor burning, and be sure to use extra caution with activities that could produce a spark!

04/28/2026 12:24 AM CDT - As expected, isolated showers are developing behind the dry line that is lifting back to the northwest across the region. This shower and potential thunderstorm activity will move to the northeast. The best chance of seeing any activity will remain south of the Highway 82 corridor through roughly 6 AM CDT.

04/27/2026 - As rain chances go up, temperatures look to go down! Our cold fronts that are expected this week will bring in some seasonably cool air! Some locations will be close to freezing by sunrise on Saturday morning following high temperatures in the upper 40s and 50s for Friday!
