Why a diabetic alert service dog has made life easier:

1. Reduces the stress of overnight blood sugar lows.

2. The anxiety of having a life long 24/7 disease is not as bad with a dog by your side 24/7.

3. Having a 2nd line of confirmation on blood sugar levels. When my Dexcom has issues, it’s nice having a dog to give me that reassurance if I’m not able to test with a meter at that specific second.

4. My A1c has been significantly lower since I got Dexter.

5. The amount of people in the Type 1 community because they see I have a diabetic alert dog by my side has been really cool.

Dexter is the best boy. 10/10. Hope everyone has a great day!

I’ve gotten quite a few new followers so I wanted to introduce myself again 👋🏻

My name is Mark, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when I was 12 years old. I am now 20 and I started this clothing company about 9 months ago.

I wanted to give back to the type one community as best I could, so I decided to start this company and donate 10% of all proceeds to different diabetes organizations.

I’ve met some amazing people along the way and everyone is so welcoming in this community! I’ve learned so many great things diabetes related and the tips/tricks for managing blood sugars have been great!

I want to thank everyone for the support! Hope everyone has a fantastic Monday!

Definitely my favorite combination of shirt and shorts!

This past weekend I travelled to Austin, TX to do another 10k and brought Dexter, my diabetic alert dog, with me. The past couple times I’ve flown I haven’t taken him with me because he is so afraid of flying.

I decided to give it another go, and surprisingly he was absolutely great on the plane. He just laid down and didn’t get anxious at all.

The race went well, I dropped another 2 mins off my best time, and won my age group.

Today marks two months until Ironman Texas 70.3. I can’t wait hoping everything goes smoothly and I have a great race!

Hope everyone has an amazing day!

Glad to be working with to help out with Type 1 diabetes control with Ironman training. A community of T1D's and expert advisors managing diabetes differently!

Spoke with the owner of glucose advisors, Cliff, and he’s has done several triathlons and actually has the fastest Ironman time for any Type 1 diabetic out there.

When starting my company, I obviously wanted to sell my products, but it’s always been about more than that. It was a way to connect with other type 1’s in the community and I’m glad I am able to do that everyday.

Excited to be working with an awesome team!

Last week I was waking up to stubborn highs and would feel absolutely nauseous everytime I woke up.

I didn’t really know why and I knew if I upped by basal I would trend low the entire rest of the day.

I think I’ve finally figured out what it is.

My body is so used to working out later at night, and last week I started working out earlier. After several days of doing that I was having the worst high blood sugars.

As soon as I started going back to working out later my blood sugars have been great.

It’s so strange that a small routine change can have an extreme affect on your blood sugars.

Type 1 Diabetes is never the same day to day and everyday is a new equation to figure out.

Hope everyone has a great day!
