Project Kompass

In July, Project Kompass welcomed more than 125 households, representing over 400 family members, during our monthly Open Closet hours.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Hope & Comfort, these families will now have access to much needed hygiene products that have been in short supply at our center. Access to essentials like soap, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, and other personal care items can make a meaningful difference for individuals and families facing hardship.

We are so grateful for this partnership and for organizations that understand the importance of restoring dignity through basic necessities.

Over the past week, this incredible team welcomed more than 200 households through the doors of the Project Kompass Community Center.

Together, we provided food, clothing, diapers, baby essentials, personal hygiene products, emergency assistance, and—most importantly—hope.

I’m incredibly grateful for this team. Every single day they show up with compassion, dedication, and heart to serve our community. Today, we took a moment to celebrate the people behind the mission.

PROJECT KOMPASS BACK-TO-SCHOOL 2026 DRIVE

Every child deserves to begin the school year feeling confident, prepared, and excited! Project Kompass is committed to helping as many school-aged children as possible receive:

👕 A new first-day-of-school outfit
👟 A new pair of shoes or sneakers
🎒 A new backpack filled with school supplies

But we need our community’s help to make it happen!

BACK-TO-SCHOOL DRIVE: Hosted by Senator Vanna Howard

12:00–4:00 p.m.
Project Kompass Community Center

Stop by to meet Senator Howard, support children in our community, enjoy refreshments, and learn more about the Project Kompass Community Center. We will be collecting new clothing, shoes, and sneakers for school-aged boys and girls of all sizes—from kindergarten through high school.

FIRST ANNUAL BACK-TO-SCHOOL EVENT
Saturday, August 22
12:00–3:00 p.m.
Project Kompass Community Center
192 Appleton Street, Lowell

Students will have the opportunity to choose a new outfit, a pair of shoes or sneakers, and a new backpack filled with school supplies (all items based on availability).

We are also looking for local barbers and hairstylists willing to donate their time and talents by providing haircuts and styling services to students. This is a wonderful way to get involved, give back, and help a child walk into school feeling their very best!
