When it comes to stress eating, keeping a food diary can help you see patterns or certain behaviors in how you eat when you're feeling anxious, stressed, or depressed. Follow the prompts below and record what you eat for the next 7 days to see if any patterns emerge. If you skip a meal, record that as well!

Find this worksheet on the worksheet page of The BPD Project's website or on the homepage under Featured Worksheet! Then head back to the comments to post about what patterns you've noticed, if any, or just to state how you're making a difference in your stress eating journey!

Have you ever put your own needs behind in order to please others? There are times when selflessness is okay, but when it's a constant thing, problematic people-pleasing may be an issue.

People problematically please others for reasons that may include: the fear of rejection, insecurities, the need to be well-liked, the fear of abandonment, or the fear of failure or disappointment, resulting in negative consequences or punishment.

You may recognize someone, or yourself, as a people-pleaser if they come across as too eager to lend a hand, tries to accommodate everyone else's needs above their own, feels valuable when complying to others, says sorry when there's no need to apologize, or makes excuses for the faults of others.

However, there are ways to stop being a people-pleaser and start focusing on your own needs!

♥️ Get to know yourself
♥️ Learn to set boundaries
♥️ Learn when to say yes or no
♥️ Examine whether something triggers your helping behavior
♥️ Examine your intentions and ask why you want to help others
♥️ Wait for the person to ask for help
♥️ Try asking others for their help

Remember, having this specific trait doesn't necessarily mean you have BPD or a mental disorder, and having BPD doesn't mean you'll have this trait! Reach out for help if you think you have a problem with people-pleasing.

Happy National Sticker Day! If I had my shop open right now this would be the time to say “all stickers are 15% off with coupon code STICKER” but alas, we’re not there yet
