Magic being a 19 y.o. career therapeutic riding horse who is suffering from Equine Protozoal Myeloencephalitis (EPM). The disease attacks a horse's central nervous system. Without a timely diagnosis and treatment EPM can cause devastating and lasting neurological damage.
Magic’s treatment has begun. Sixty to 70 percent of EPM cases aggressively treated show significant or complete reversal of symptoms. Regardless of his recovery Magic has been retired from therapeutic riding and nonifarm has committed to being Magic’s forever home for the remainder of his days.

Although we are missing the presence of our magical unicorn Sunday's Shadow, her amazing energy is still very much here and watching over her nonifarm herd.
Shadow was nonifarm's first adoption as the retreat for senior equines it has become. As an elderly government-branded mustang, Shadow came to us after being rescued by humane law officers from a home where the horses were suffering from severe neglect and cruelty. Shadow had been nursed back to health by wonderful people at the Pennsylvania SPCA and spent more than three years in limbo with no one willing to adopt her.
The day she arrived here was unforgettable. She was described as standoffish and likely to be a loner. She came off that horse trailer with the excitement of a filly ready to claim nonifarm's green pastures as her home. Noni's beloved quarter horse Sunday had been on his own for several years. Things fell into place the moment the two of them met and she was by his side for the remainder of his days.
