One of the most common mistakes I see in the garden isn't what people water, it's how they water! πŸ’¦

When you water, aim for the base of the plant, not the leaves. This helps the roots absorb the moisture where it's needed most and can reduce the risk of fungal diseases that thrive on constantly wet foliage.

I also recommend watering deeply and slowly, preferably early in the morning. This gives your plants time to soak up the water before the heat of the day causes it to evaporate.

How do you usually water your garden? Let me know in the comments! πŸ’š

Here's a look at my latest patio garden bed project! πŸ₯Ή I love showing that even smaller spaces have the potential to grow an abundance of vegetables, herbs, and flowers when they're planned with intention.

If the first thing you check is your phone, let this be your sign to check on your plants too.

Look at the soil. Peek at the leaves. See who’s thriving, who’s being dramatic, and who may need a little water before the group chat gets your attention.

What is the first plant you check in the morning? 😌

If your soil is mostly sand, YES, you can absolutely grow a productive garden with it!

Here's what I recommend:

βœ” Add plenty of compost to increase organic matter.
βœ” Mix in aged manure or worm castings for added nutrients.
βœ” Apply mulch around your plants to help retain moisture.
βœ” Continue adding compost every season, the goal is to build healthy soil gradually, not overnight.

Curious about what happens in an intensive gardening class? πŸ€

I get a lot of questions about how my classes work, what we cover, and whether they’re beginner-friendly? so I decided to answer some of the most common ones.

From building garden beds and understanding soil to growing food more intentionally, my goal is to help make gardening feel less overwhelming and more achievable.

If you’ve ever wanted to start a garden but didn’t know where to begin, this video is for you πŸ’š

Some of the most important growth happens when nobody is watching πŸ€—
In the garden, we don't see the roots stretching deeper every day. We don't see the seeds breaking open beneath the soil. Yet, that's where the real work is happening.

The same is true for us. Growing food teaches us that progress is often quiet, but it is still progress.

If your garden (or your goals) feel slow right now, keep going! Consistency has a way of revealing results when the time is right πŸ’š
