Firecracker the Play

Things have quieted down for a bit with the situation with Hadestown. I recently at the show, which was amazing. When I heard about the young lady Sara, using the captioning device to enjoy the show, getting called out by the leading lady. That wasn't okay at all!! My heart goes out to her. I have had experiences like that. That is why I hesitated to use the device. I don't want be called out by people who are not informed. either with the actors or the audience members. I will fill you in with what happened to me with Beetlejuice at a later date.

Biggest issue here , Communications, what if you announced it to the audience at the same time telling everyone to turn off the phone. For ex: Please turn off your phones, please be aware there are captioning devices are being used for this performance.

Informed your actors onstage, they are aware as well. We need to train the ushers to recognize with the deaf and Hard of hearing members who are using the devices.
