Subliminal Projects

Lars Bergquist is a visual artist known for his photorealistic paintings displayed globally on buildings, street corners, and in galleries. His series “Life and Loss in LA,” featured in “Visual Language: Vistas,” explores the fleeting nature of moments. Inspired by his walks through Los Angeles, he focuses on discarded objects, transforming them into vessels of memory. By acknowledging what is lost, we remember the significance of these items, celebrating and mourning their absence.

Evan Hecox () is a multidisciplinary artist and designer based in Colorado. For the past two decades, his work has encompassed drawing, painting, printmaking, graphic design, and illustration. Much of his inspiration comes from his travels, featuring imagery that ranges from major cities to remote desert scenes, all unified by a keen eye for the mood and essence of each place and moment in time. The pieces created for Visual Language: Vistas appear photorealistic from a distance, but upon closer inspection, you can see they are hand-painted. The landscapes are of an area located near the Nevada border at the base of the Sierra Nevada mountains, which has a rich history as a filming location for Hollywood westerns and other productions.
