Animal Rights Watch

We just learned about this important campaign... we know it's specific to a single state, but well, animals can't choose what state they're in, and it's all of our responsibilities to help them wherever we can:

Idaho is one of only three states, including North Dakota and South Dakota, that does not have a felony cruelty to animals provision.

In 2008, the Idaho legislature changed dog fighting to a felony, so dog fighting and poisoning are the only felonies in Idaho’s Animal Care Law.

It's time to change this . . .

Idaho 1 of 3 is a grass roots organization brought forth by a coalition of Idaho citizens and groups to protect Idaho animals from cruelty. We must collect 60,000 signatures by April 30, 2012 to get this initiative on the November 2012 ballot.

The initiative will accomplish two things:

1. Add a torture definition which will result in felony charges and penalties;
2. Add a felony penalty for the third and subsequent convictions of animal cruelty.
