Our founder was back in the room this week moderating “The News Creator Shift” panel at the Summit, sitting down with Ulloa, , and to talk about how journalists are building their own platforms outside traditional newsrooms.
The conversation reminded us exactly why we exist. Creators are not a layer of the media ecosystem anymore. They are the media. The trusted voices, the cultural translators, the new outlets people actually turn to. And they deserve the respect, infrastructure, and seriousness the legacy world has always commanded.
It was also a real pleasure seeing so many creators we have known for years in the same room as the new voices we cannot wait to get to know better. That mix is exactly what this community is about. Lifting each other up, sharing our stories, and trading the real practical knowledge that helps the next person move forward. That is the work, and it only happens when we actually show up for each other.
Consider this our official re-entry. More creator profiles, more in-person gatherings, more practical conversations, and maybe even some new things on the horizon along with bringing back a few of the platforms we were once known for that brought national recognition to Latine creators.😉. Stay close.
Thank you to HPRA and for the incredible event and invitation to be a part of it.

On this , we reflect on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s unwavering commitment to justice and equality. His vision not only transformed America’s fight for civil rights but also provides valuable lessons for all marginalized communities, including Latinos.
While the struggles faced by African Americans, particularly during the era of segregation, were deeply horrific and unimaginable to many of us today, Dr. King’s work made it possible for countless communities to fight for equality. The fight for Black Americans’ civil rights during the Jim Crow era was on a level of systemic oppression that most cannot even imagine. Without the victories of the Civil Rights Movement, life for immigrants today would undoubtedly be much harder.
Although Martin Luther King Jr. and Cesar Chavez never met in person, their legacies were deeply intertwined, and they communicated through telegrams. In 1968, during Chavez’s 25-day fast to reaffirm his commitment to nonviolence, Dr. King sent him a telegram that read: “Our separate struggles are really one. A struggle for freedom, for dignity, and for humanity.”
It is because of the activism, courage, and vision of leaders like Dr. King that today’s fights for justice and dignity are even possible for people from all backgrounds.
Though the challenges faced by African Americans and Latinos are different in many ways, Dr. King’s message of dignity, humanity, and the fight against oppression resonates deeply with the Latino community. King’s vision isn’t about replicating the exact struggles of others, but about recognizing the shared fight for freedom, equality, and a sense of belonging in a diverse society. His call for justice serves as a guiding light for all marginalized groups, including Latinos, as we navigate our unique challenges and push for a society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
As we honor his life, let’s continue working together to ensure that every voice is valued, and every person has the opportunity to flourish.
