Yesterday, I came across a photo of this door that, despite its undeniable hum of creative energy, seemed to hold my eye with a quiet confidence. I kept coming back to it. created something so special with this piece. It was made with love. The door now belongs to ceramacist, whose own work is also entirely beautiful as well (slide to see some of it). He posted the door and some shots of his new home with a kind of humility, appreciation and generosity that genuinely moved me. This is art. All of it. The stuff you can see and the energy behind it that you can’t. It’s all there in this door, the home and the clay. And it reminded me of all the best reasons to do any of this. Thanks, guys. Here it is…Ben Moore’s color of the year, just as the weather is turning. Conjuring up images of cozy evenings in front of the fireplace, it’s hard to argue with a deep, rich, sexy, chocolate brown. Especially for a timber-loving 70’s girl like me. But I’m also a Cali girl. So, for my west coast crowd, we’ll work on putting some air in it too.
