Let’s clear up a common myth on Marilyn Monroe !
The story that Marilyn Monroe (Norma Jeane) was raised as an orphan isn’t really true. Her guardian, Grace, made up this tale to help with publicity and keep the press away from her family drama.
Norma Jeane did spend little time in an orphanage, but she also lived with various guardians even her own mom at times. Not exactly the Hollywood “orphan girl” story we’ve all heard!
