The day the family moved in hit different. Watching them claim the space showed me the real work.
This was the moment the purpose locked in, and the moment that shaped everything that came next.

I didnât expect to cry in front of the volunteers, but thatâs exactly what happened. That welcome circle showed me who my real community was, and it wasnât who I expected.

I was eight years old.
We were living in Westwood.
And when my mom lost everything, we moved in with my grandparents.
I didnât know it then, but we were homeless.
Not on the street, not in a shelterâjust in that gray space no one talks about.
Thatâs the reality for a lot of families.
Homelessness doesnât always look how you think it does.
The doors didnât open right away.
She knocked on a lot of them before one finally did.
Sometimes, thatâs what it takes.
Eight days inside a one-bedroom apartment .
Our first real build.

This Homelessness Awareness Month, weâre focusing on the math behind instabilityâhow families do everything right and still canât reach what stability costs.
Because behind every number is someone making it work until systems catch up.

November is Homelessness Awareness Month.
Weâre using it to look closer at what stability really takesâ
and to move design where it matters most.
Every project starts with one goal: build environments that make independence possible.
Thatâs the work.
Follow along this month as we keep building.

FLIP4GOODÂŽ is officially registered.
The name is protected. The mission is intact.
Built with intention. Backed by community. Here to stay.
Appreciate everyone who helped bring this across the finish line.
One year ago, we flipped our first unit.
A 700-square-foot home for a family of four at .
It became proof that design can change what balance feels like. That a space built with intention can help the body settle and stability take root.
The first Flip lit the path for everything since.

As survivors navigate the aftermath of the devastating fires in Los Angeles County, incredible first responders are meeting their immediate needs with food, clothing, and diapers.
But what happens next?
Once survivors find housing, the trauma and overwhelm of starting over can feel insurmountable. Many will move into empty spaces, compounding their stress and making recovery even harder. Thatâs where Flip4Good comes inâto alleviate the burden by providing fully furnished, functional homes that offer stability and comfort.
Weâre raising funds to offer free Flipsâtransforming empty spaces into supportive, trauma-informed homes for those whoâve lost everything.
Donate today and join this bold action. Visit the link in our bio or visit flip4good.org/donate. Together, we can turn loss into strength and action. Be safe + be well.
