At HOPICS, our staff bring more than their roles. They bring their stories, their heart, and a commitment to walking alongside every client with dignity and care.

Hector Carranza, Lead Outreach Case Manager at HOPICS, shares a powerful real life success story about Mr. Robles, a blind individual experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles.

Through consistent street outreach, advocacy, and compassionate case management, Hector was able to help navigate critical resources and housing support for a client many might have overlooked.

This story is a reminder that homelessness does not define someone’s potential and that outreach work changes lives every day across SPA 6 and surrounding communities.

Watch Part 1 to hear how this unbelievable journey began and come back for Part 2 to see how the story unfolds.

We were honored to welcome Emma Sharif, Mayor of the City of Compton, along with Lillie Darden, Compton City Councilmember for District 4, to our Compton Access Center. Their visit was a meaningful opportunity to connect around shared priorities and discuss compassionate, community-centered approaches to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness. We are grateful for their time, leadership, and commitment to strengthening the Compton community through collaboration and care.
