Here’s how it works:
1) User activates external door
2) Vehicle enters garage, ignition is turned off and vehicle is locked
3) User exits garage and activates system
4) Equipment loads vehicle into system
5) Lift/shuttle travels to a cell and deposits vehicle (steps 1-5 can occur
while lift/ shuttle continues automatic transfer of a previous vehicle)
6) Shuttle awaits instruction or returns for next vehicle
7) User initiates retrieval and the entire process works in reverse
The Auto Parkit system can accommodate roughly three floors for every two
floors of a traditional garage. Vehicles are mechanically stored with precision control, and the narrower stalls allow twice as many cars in the same space, or the same number in half the space. The net result is a smaller footprint; a smarter use of available land. Full or semi-automated valet systems are tailormade to user requirements. Time spent finding an empty parking space is eliminated, and the average vehicle retrieval time is 45 to 120 seconds. Ground level access eliminates the use of stairs, elevators or escalators, and entry/exit points can be easily designed to allow wheelchair-friendly use. In a word, intelligent.
