A grove of 32 orange trees in planters at the Ann Street entrance of Los Angeles State Historic Park.
Each planter carries a phrase shared by a neighbor from the surrounding community β together, the phrases form a collective poem.

Sharing a moment from the installation: first, a panoramic view of the original sketch that decodes the many elements woven into the artwork; then a video of the curtains in situ; The Monument to Sharing sign, and finally, a portrait of Austin Young and David Allen Burns inside the gallery at NMA.
This work is a celebration of life in the Great Basin and the high desert surrounding Reno β a vibrant ecosystem of pollinators, native plants, and the intertwined relationships that sustain this landscape. It is also a companion piece to Fallen Fruitβs Monument to Sharing, located just outside the atrium windows.
