There's been a lot of chatter about ultra-processed foods and their effects on kids' health, which has left many parents worried. But Lucy has a point—we shouldn't just write off all processed foods.
Things like baked beans, hummus, and fortified cereals can actually pack in good stuff like iron, fiber, and protein. Of course, some ultra-processed items, especially processed meats or those loaded with sugar, salt, or unhealthy fats, are best in moderation.
Lucy reminds us that we can definitely find a balanced path. What we choose to eat often boils down to time, money, cooking skills, and even cultural backgrounds.
The main takeaway here? No single food decides your kid's health.
It's about the overall diet and lifestyle. Check out the link in our bio for expert tips on making toddler snacks healthier, getting kids to finish their meals, and understanding their food habits.
We're here to make nutrition easy for your family, turning it into everyday routines that help raise happy, adventurous eaters. Get in on checklists, busting myths, clever food swaps, and quick lunchbox ideas to help you feel more confident about nurturing your child's growth and fun meals.

Ever find yourself stuck when your kids refuse to eat dinner? This week, I asked my Instagram followers if they stress when their kids skip dinner, and the responses poured in.
About 40% worry about their kids going to bed hungry, and another 40% are concerned about a rough night. As a parent, I totally get it.
This topic comes up a lot in my consultations, so let’s talk about why dinner can be tough for kids and how to make it a bit easier. Seeing mealtime through your child’s eyes can really change things.
Drawing from my nearly 15 years of experience with families and young kids, I want to offer some reassurance and insights.
Let’s dive into why dinnertime can be challenging and how we can make it a positive part of the day. We’ll discuss practical ways to tackle picky eating, create balanced meals, and encourage healthy habits that help raise happy, well-nourished kids.
Remember, feeding your kids is about more than just nutrition—it's about setting them up with good habits for life.
For more ideas on fun and balanced meals, managing lunchboxes, and clearing up food myths, stick around. If you have questions or thoughts, I’d love to hear them—let’s chat and support one another.

2024's been a wild ride, especially with all those perfect moments we see online. I’ve had my own crazy year too.
It sometimes felt like I couldn’t measure up, but stepping back, I’ve realized how far I've come. Balancing career and family is tough, and I’ve had those weekends and nights lost to work, which sometimes brings on that familiar guilt from not spending enough time with my loved ones.
Behind those smiles in photos were lots of doubts and tears, and those challenging days juggling parenting with work. But, I’ve been so lucky to have my husband, daughter, family, and friends there with their unwavering support.
What drives me has remained the same: helping parents raise happy, confident eaters with practical, science-based advice.
I'm excited for what 2025 holds and committed to making child nutrition simple and resolving picky eating stress-free, to get kids excited about healthy family meals. Whether by debunking myths, suggesting quick food swaps, or sharing cool lunchbox ideas, I want to give you clear, evidence-based help to support your child’s growth with confidence.
Massive thanks to all the families, partners, colleagues, and especially you for being by my side this year, even as social media took a step back.
Sending wishes for the year ahead.
