This morning, Scan Found Animals received a call about a black shepherd wandering alone near a park in Pacoima for hours. No one came for her. No microchip was found. And after a closer look… we realized this “boy” was actually a girl. 💛

She made her way to East Valley Animal Shelter, where she quietly watched other found dogs arrive — still waiting for someone to recognize her. She was named Petra.

We’re hoping her family is searching for her. But if not, she’ll need this community to help write her next chapter.

If not redeemed by her owner, she will be available for adoption on Tuesday 4/7/2026.

Tuesday morning in Reseda, Luna the fluffy Husky had the whole neighborhood watching 👀
Sightings everywhere… but no one could quite secure her.

Then a local thrift shop stepped in 💛
They grabbed a harness off the rack, kept her safe, and called Scan Found Animals.

We arrived with hope… scanned her… and YES — microchipped! 🎉
One call later, Dad was on the way and Luna was heading home.

This is what community looks like:
neighbors watching out
businesses stepping up
and microchips bringing dogs home 🐾

Thank you to everyone who helped keep Luna safe until we could get her scanned.

Another happy reunion made possible thanks to teamwork!

🆘 We Scan Found Animals are still in desperate need to help cover the cost of surgery for Quinn. We are not even near the goal. Please help us. We can not help another innocent animal that is pleading for help until Quinn gets his medical bill paid. Organizations like ours do not have thousands of dollars to pay for the medical bills of these injured animals. These animals rely on the loving community members to help them, so please for Quinn and the other injured animals. Please help us help them.🆘

This is why we scan…

Because behind every lost dog is a worried family.
Because every wagging tail deserves to go home.
Because one simple scan can change the entire story.

Every photo in this reel holds a moment we’ll never forget — a scared dog found safe, a volunteer stepping in with kindness, a reunion that brought everyone to tears. This is also just a small snippet of the many pets we scan.

Scan Found Animals is a nonprofit organization with a small team of dedicated volunteers with big hearts, who give their time, and their compassion to help lost pets find their way home. 🐾💛

If our mission speaks to you… if you believe every pet deserves to be loved, safe, and found — we invite you to support our work.

Your donation helps us continue scanning, rescuing, and reuniting families.💛🐶✨
