DEAD Talks
Nothing bad has ever happened?
argued anything that happens isn’t bad because it’s God’s will.
I’ve had this thought process personally when I think about my father who died on 9/11. Obviously it inherently is a bad thing. But, when I zoom out I wonder how much of what takes place while in our little human suits is really just written and has an incomprehensible intention behind it. Belief in God or no belief in god what if there’s just way more happening behind the scenes of the universe?
Comment MANIS270 and I’ll send you links to this episode with Rabbi Manis Friendman who joined the show for the second time.
Pain is one thing.
But pain that feels senseless—pain with no explanation, purpose or possible result—creates an entirely different layer of suffering.
Rabbi Manis Friedman argues that it isn’t only the pain that breaks us. It’s the question:
“Why me?”
Comment **manis270** and I’ll send you the full episode.
In our full conversation, we go much deeper into whether suffering can have meaning, why human beings need to feel needed, whether death ever happens by accident, and how free will can exist alongside a larger plan.
You don’t have to agree with every answer. But this conversation may make you reconsider the questions.

On this day in 1804, Alexander Hamilton died after being shot in a duel with Aaron Burr.
It’s one of the most famous deaths in American history — not just because of who he was, but because of what it says about ego, legacy, regret, and how one decision can echo for centuries.
A life can be built over decades.
A legacy can change in seconds.
Question: Do you think legacy is defined more by how someone lived, or how they died?
Surviving 9/11 and three ci******es. One of my favorite stories from my Uncle the best friend of my dad who died in the World Trade Center.
The remarkable ability of levity in horrible situations is what makes this perfect to me.

On this day in 1995, Srebrenica fell. More than 8,000 Muslim men and boys were later killed.
Some “On This Day” posts are not about inspiration. They’re about remembrance.
Because when the world loses people to hatred, silence can become another kind of burial.
Remembering is not enough.
But it matters.
Question: How do we keep history from becoming just another date?
