💆🏽Outdoor massage and hot tub sanctuary in Oakland, California is more than a tropical paradise, more than a refuge of restoration and recovery for the body and mind, it’s the brainchild of Rocco Foronda that’s become a safe haven of inclusion, accessibility, and healing for LGBTQIA+ folx and their allies. And it’s the dream Rocco realized in their pursuit of financial freedom.

When Covid forced Rocco out of a shared professional space for massage therapists, they needed to reinvent how they would continue to practice safely and create safety for the people in their community. So, like many of us, they did a complete 180.

Palapa Island was designed and built by Rocco themselves. With its completion, Rocco became a self employed, business owning bawse bringing community wellness, and helping people elevate their self-care with affordable prices and flawless service.
