What if The Evil Dead was reimagined as a forgotten, mid-level horror paperback that you found at a thriftstore for 25 cents? That’s sort of the vibe of Forever Evil. Punching above its weight, this ambitious 1987 Texas horror epic combines heavy metal album cover special effects, off-brand Lovecraft mythos, and a novelesque plot into something uncannily familiar–it’s a film you feel you’ve seen even when watching it for the first time.
