The Insurance Workshop LLC
Has a roofer ever visited your home asking to inspect your roof for damage? Did he/she allege that your neighbor(s) roof sustained damage from a recent storm and that your roof may have been damaged also? Did he/she also say that they would file the claim on your behalf? Well, if this happened to you and you signed an Assignment of Benefits (AOB) form with that contractor, you should likely expect high premium rates for years to come. The reckless use of the Assignment of Benefits form is a common sign of fraudulent activity by shady contractors throughout the State of Florida. As an insurance agent, I advise against signing over your rights to a contractor who's only after easy money and will not be looking for your best interest. These shady contractors create and then inflate the cost of these false claims just to make a quick buck. If this has happened to you, give us a call and let's chat.
