1 Corinthians 2:1-5 KJV
And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
[2] For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
[3] And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
[4] And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
[5] That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
Amen?
2 Corinthians 13:5-6 KJVS
Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
[6] But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.
Pay close attention to the last verse.
Romans 1:21-32 KJVS
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
[22] Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
[23] And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
[24] Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
[25] Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
[26] For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
[27] And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
[28] And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
[29] Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
[30] Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
[31] Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
[32] Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same,
but have pleasure in them that do them.

The purpose of life?
Take time to reflect:
Life is a gift of service.
All our lives, we are indebted to service.
In the beginning, we are dependent on our parents or caregivers to render us the necessities of life. Food, clothing and shelter. Education and guidance. During this time we should have learned about chores, self reliance and responsibility.
Then we start to dream of our, "independence". We can't wait to get out on our own and find freedom.
After we accomplish leaving the nest, we soon learn service to others. No matter if we are white or blue collar, we must serve to earn and then distribute most of our wealth to others. As we take a companion, and eventually have offspring, out service and devotion multiples.
Then we dream of the days when our children will be on their own and we can gallivant around seeing all the things we never got to see. But parents or loved ones soon decline to a place where they require our help or service.
Now it is easy to resent the obligation of service interrupting our plans, but the best way to reconcile our minds to the reality of our purpose is to realize, the greater the person you become, the greater the service required of you.
Luke 22:26 KJVS
But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.
Summary: we are first served by others, then we create that which we will serve, then we serve that which has served us and in the end we again require someone to serve us in our last days.
The purpose of life is service.
Philippians 4:11-13 KJVS
Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
