As a Christ follower, there seems to always be a tension between “let them” and “cut them.”
The tension between “Judas ate too” & “Jesus flipped tables.”
The conflict of “bless those who curse you” & “don’t even sit down and eat with such.”
And you are either one side of that coin or the other. You don’t see it balanced well very often.
You either fall on the side that’s SEEMS “not very Christ-like” or so soft it’s tough to stay saved. Haha but here’s the truth…
Jesus told people no. People said “Jesus I’m going with you…and he said…”no you’re not.” A call to love doesn’t equal a call to relational disfunction and abuse.
Sharing your life with everyone doesn’t equal a demand to do life with everyone.
You are not forced to subject yourself to manipulation, disrespect and dishonor simply because someone identifies as your “brother” in Christ.
If we are called to darkness why would the word tell us “what fellowship does light have with darkness?”
It isn’t referring to sinners or unbelievers. Paul makes this clear and sets the record straight when he says if that’s what I meant you would have to leave the earth.
He is referring to darkness that pretends to be light.
The “saved” narcissist.
The Jezebel who identifies as a “prophetess.” Discerning who made a mistake and who hides behind good motives or intentions with malicious intent is life and death.
You must clearly discern Judas from Peter. Love doesn’t mean no boundaries. Love doesn’t equal acceptance. Love protects.
And as a leader who wants to give people the best you, you must be willing to protect you. How does one do that? Emotionally healthy alignment with the right people.
And unfortunately…Knowing who you can’t be aligned with. How do I navigate this well? It’s possible to not allow proximity to you while not wishing ill-will towards who you need to love from a distance.
This is a tension that requires prayer, strategy and submission to the spirit of God. Ask for help. He will help you.🙌👏❤️🔥
