Our hearts are with everyone affected by this tragedy. Workers, families, first responders, and our whole community are carrying a lot right now.
If youβre able, please consider donating to support those impacted during this incredibly difficult time. Even small acts of care can make a difference when a community is hurting.
Longview always shows up for each other. Letβs keep doing that now. β€οΈ
The effects of yesterday's tragedy continue to ripple thru our community. We're all hurting, especially the families who are missing loved ones. And the last thing these families need is to have the burden of uncertain finances. The Cowlitz-Wahkiakum Central Labor Council and the Longview/Kelso Building Trades Council have set up an account to accept donations for the families affected by the disaster at the Nippon Dynawave facility.
All donations can be dropped off at the Longshoreman's Federal Credit Union. Just let them know why you're there and they'll make sure it gets into the right account.

β¨ INDIGENOUS AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT β¨
Have you picked up a book by Robin Wall Kimmerer yet?
Robin Wall Kimmerer is a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, a botanist, professor, and writer whose work beautifully blends Indigenous knowledge, science, nature, and storytelling. Her writing invites readers to rethink our relationship with the earth, community, reciprocity, and what it means to truly care for one another.
Her books feel like sitting quietly in the woods with someone wise enough to change your whole perspective without ever raising their voice. πΏ
π Recommended reads:
β’ Braiding Sweetgrass β A stunning collection of essays weaving Indigenous wisdom, ecology, and healing.
β’ Gathering Moss β Quiet, thoughtful reflections on nature, science, and slowing down enough to notice the world around us.
β’ The Serviceberry β A beautiful exploration of reciprocity, abundance, and community care.
