Progress isn’t always pretty, but it’s always honest.

Out at Cedar Heights (70 acres | 71 lots), we hit groundwater while installing our storm boxes. That’s a big deal…because if not handled right, it can erode the subgrade beneath the pavement and lead to cracked, compromised concrete down the line.

So we slowed down and did it right.

Per the engineer’s direction, we drilled 3 test wells to fully understand what we’re dealing with. Now we’re waiting on the data to guide the next move.

The goal: create a controlled path for the water to flow into our storm system and safely discharge into the nearby creek…protecting the integrity of the entire development.

This is the part people don’t always see. But this is what building it right actually looks like.

Before framing stage starts got to make sure all lumber is on site for framers but most importantly make sure all the plumbing hit the walls meaning drains and vents are within the wall cavities... if not, it’s not the end of the world but gives you a moment to adjust and think before framing begins. Stay ahead of your trades!
