Did you spot all the secrets?! These are tried and true for me. I just started to clean up after Christmas came down & am no where near done winterizing the house, BUT as I got started I was thinking of the ways I cozy up our home after the Christmas comes down that makes a huge impact & I rounded them up for you guys in hope that it helps you cozy up your home as well! These are my top 6 tried & true secrets to a cozy winter home: Warm glow- with lamps, candles, wall sconces, & even fairy lights. The more the merrier to keep those winter blues away. Mirrors and other reflective surfaces - Adding reflective surfaces is good in every season, but winter It’s even better to reflect all the cozy lights. Layer textiles - rugs, throw blankets, pillows, tablecloths, fabric scraps, framed textiles, bedding, curtains, & so much more. Textiles for texture, color, pattern, & more adds so much cozy warmth. The more layers the better. Get creative! Greenery - In every season bringing nature in is the key. If you can do nothing else, bring the greens in!!! Whether faux or real, bring greenery into each space to add life, interest, & cozy texture. Antiques- All year long antiques & secondhand thrifted vintage finds are my FAVORITE way to add the unique cozy spin to our home. I’ve been collecting for over 18 years so we have many that make up our cozy home, but in my opinion adding cozy antiques to every space makes it feel complete & cozy. Antique wood furniture, transferware, books, chairs, figurines, lamps, clocks, baskets, &… Art! - Adding art to the walls is the best way to add character and warmth to any room, hang all the art!! Gallery walls, plates, taxidermy, family photos, and more. All the art on the walls & framed photos on tables & shelves add such a cozy collected vibe! Bonus tips: signs of spring sprinkled in offer so much hope of light & warmth ahead. An antique bunny here, a tulip there, never hurt!
