Helpful Tips To Start A Healthy Worm Bin:
~ The more worms you have, the more efficient and quicker composting efforts tend to be
~ Each container includes worms in various stages plus cocoons and bits of original habitat (bedding materials, food, etc.) to make transitioning a success and less stressful. Weight is calculated with just worms.
~ Recommended to start with at least 1/2 pound (500+ worms) depending on budget, but in ideal conditions your initial worm supply should double or triple within 60-90 days
~ Ideal to plan on at least 1/2 lb worms per square foot
~ Have your bin ready before purchasing your worms, or conveniently purchase a Bin Package from us
~ Plan on keeping your bin indoors and out of direct sunlight and in a location that does not experience extreme temperature fluctuations. A basement, garage or under the kitchen sink can all be potential options!
