For The Child
The end of the school year can feel like a huge relief, but it's yet another transition period for kids. They may revert to younger comforting behaviors as the school year comes to an end close. Keep the dialog open and encourage them to share their feelings. They may want more snuggles, to watch shows they haven't watched in years, and may just be a little clingy. Be there and listen.
Meet and Greets just added! Do you want to learn more about what it means to be a CART volunteer? Join us at an information meet and greet to have all of your questions answered.
June 9th (6 – 7:30pm) and Saturday June 13th (9 – 10:30am). To register for one of these sessions please contact Jenny Magana [email protected]. For the Child is opening its CART Training Academy (40 hours) beginning Tuesday, June 16, 2026. Provide a safe and healthy safe place in your home for your children. Let them know they have adults to love and support them and who 100% believe them. Trust your children when they talk to you. They need you to have their back--be on your child's side always!
When stress multiples, things get tough--for children and adults. The end of the school year can be especially intense. If you have a child overcoming something big in their lives, the stress and pressure may trigger a setback. Emotions are likely to flare and might catch you off guard. Be patient, listen, and call us if they need help.
