Prism Comics congratulates and the contributors to the just published Gender Q***r: The Annotated Edition. Maia Kobabe’s landmark graphic novel exploration of q***r identity and self-discovery has been expanded with commentary, reactions, and notes from q***r and trans cartoonists, comics scholars, and multiple people who appear as characters in the book. Maia Kobabe said in a statement: “It’s been almost seven years since I wrote the final words of this memoir; revisiting these pages today, in a radically different and less accepting political climate, sparked a lot of new thoughts for me as well. I hope readers enjoy this even richer text full of community voices.”

Maia Kobabe will be appearing at Prism Comics’ Q CON LGBTQIA+ COMIC CONVENTION on Saturday, June 20 at Fiesta Hall in Plummer Park, West Hollywood - signing copies of Gender Q***r. Several contributors to Gender Q***r: The Annotated Edition will also be appearing at Q Con - Tara Madison Avery, Shannon Watters, Ajuan Mance. Emely combines her love for vintage fashion and aesthetics to create pop art comics about mental health, sexuality, and identity in Mexican culture. She's also a manga artist creating one-shots and cyberpunk illustrations featuring characters from her upcoming debut "Phantasmagoria."
