This month we are proud to highlight OFFICER AMIN WHITMORE JR, who has been serving with Long Beach Police Department since 2024. Officer Whitmore is currently assigned to the Patrol Division as a Patrol Officer.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE LAW ENFORCEMENT?
“While in college, I took a policing class. After about a week in the class, I knew law enforcement was what I wanted to do.”

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT SERVING OUR COMMUNITY?
“Our community is very considerate and supportive of us.”

TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF.
“I’m 23. I’m originally from New Jersey and moved down here over 10 years ago. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice.”

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?
“I love spending time outdoors. I enjoy hiking and skateboarding. I have also recently started knitting.”

FAVORITE LOCAL SPOT?
“If I had to pick a spot, it would be Uncle Joe’s on Pineville. The staff is friendly, and the food is delicious. My favorite is the hot honey pizza.”

FUN FACT?
“I'm alright at bowling.”

GO-TO SHIFT FUEL?
“Has to be a Ghost 7up and zero-sugar Red Bulls from the Hop in.”
