Here are some facts about ROTH IRA’s that are updated for 2023.

1. The annual contribution limit for 2023 is $6,500. You have until April of 2024 to make these.

2. Income limits are based on MODIFIED adjusted gross income (so not just your salary). This is with all your deductions.

3. If your MAGI ends up being less than $138,000, you can directly contribute to your ROTH IRA. If your MAGI is between $138,000 and $153,000, you can still contribute, but it’ll be a reduced amount and not the full $6,500

4. These income limits are different if you are married filing jointly, so make sure you refer to the limits on the IRS website.

5. ROTH IRA’s are a powerful financial tool for your retirement. The money that goes in is already taxed, but everything that you earn, will be tax-free!

6. Many people also don’t realize that you can actually withdraw your contributions anytime without penalty. It’s only the earnings that get taxed

7. Even if you make more than the income limits, you can still contribute to your Roth IRA using the Backdoor method.

8. You can even pass your ROTH IRA to heirs and provide on generational wealth!
