The Department, Engine Company No. 1, and horses, pose in front of the Central Station at 210 West 3rd Street circa 1920. The station was built in 1906. The engine company consists of a steam fire engine, a hose wagon and a ladder truck, all pulled by horses. On the left is a motorized vehicle. has the distinction of being the first west of the Rockies to have a motorized fire engine and in 1907 purchased two Rambler motor driven units with 40-gallon chemical tanks and 500 feet of hose each. The used this photograph for their 1920βs Greetings card. A bell tower attached to the building is visible in the background. This station was later destroyed in the .
