I’m heartbroken to hear of the passing of my mentor and close friend Bob Foster, a historic mayor during a very challenging time in Long Beach. Bob loved this community and the state, and embodied public service, leading with integrity, generosity, and heart. His depth of knowledge on politics and policy was only rivaled by his depth of knowledge on Ancient Roman history, philosophy, and business. He gave so much to so many, and we’ll miss him unspeakably. My love and support to Nancy and the entire Foster family, to all those that loved and felt love from Bob, and to the residents of our city suffering from this massive loss. Rest peacefully Bob, and thank you for your service.
