πŸš—βœ¨ Safe Rides Protect the Vibes!

Have you noticed the new speed feedback signs popping up around Long Beach? πŸ‘€ These signs are being installed at Speed Safety System locations to remind drivers of their speed and encourage safer driving before the pilot program begins.

The Speed Safety System is a pilot program that will use automated speed safety devices to encourage drivers to slow down and help prevent serious and fatal crashes. πŸͺ§ Installing these signs ahead of activation gives drivers advance notice and an opportunity to adjust their speed.

🚦 Our goal is simple: encourage safer driving, reduce serious crashes, and help make Long Beach streets safer for everyone.

As a part of National Public Works Week, the Department of Public Works hosts PW employees for our annual Touch-A-Truck event where they can celebrate with their families and enjoy an afternoon of games, activities, food, and hands-on fun.
Β
This year, we asked their kids a simple question: β€œWhat does your mom/dad do for Public Works?” πŸš§πŸš›
Β
Their answers were creative, funny, and a great reminder of the important work our Public Works team does every day to keep our community running.
