If you haven’t received your stimulus payment for 2020 or 2021 you will need to file your tax return for 2020 & 2021 tax years to claim the credit.

If you already filed for those years and didn’t claim the credit, amend your taxes and claim the credit.

It will not be available for the 2022 tax year.

IMPORTANT ‼️There has been a few changes to the Child tax credit for the 2022 tax year.

You will no longer be able to claim a child that is 17 it has changed to 16 and younger.

The child tax credit decreased from $3,600 for children under 6 and $3,000 for children ages 6-17 to $2,000 for all ages 0-16.

The additional child tax credit ACTC is limited to $1,500 and is no longer fully refundable.

Refunds will be much smaller this year due to these changes.
