In observance of 🎄 Christmas Day and New Year’s Day taking place Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024, and Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025, many City of Long Beach facilities will be closed and some services will be impacted.

đź§ąđź’¨Street Sweeping
There will be no scheduled street sweeping or enforcement of street sweeping violations on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Street sweeping will resume its regular schedule on Thursday, Dec. 26, and Thursday, Jan. 2.

đźš— Parking Enforcement
Read your parking meter: Citywide parking violations, including parking meters, will be enforced on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, unless the meter states “Exempt on Holidays.” The days and hours of enforcement are displayed inside the meters.

🚛 ♻️ Refuse/Recycling
There will be no scheduled refuse and recycling collection on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Refuse and recycling will resume its regular schedule on Thursday, Dec. 26, and Thursday, Jan. 2.

📚 All locations will close at 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, and New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31. All locations will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. All Library locations will resume normal operations on Thursday, Dec. 26, and Thursday, Jan. 2, and the main phone line will be open during regular business hours. Library patrons are encouraged to utilize the Library’s vast collection of digital resources, including the Library catalog, downloads, and databases, available 24/7.

🌲♻️ Holiday Treecycling
The Public Works Department is offering its annual Holiday Treecycling, providing an accessible and responsible way to recycle live trees for Long Beach residents. From Thursday, Dec. 26, 2024, through Friday, Jan. 10, 2025, residents can drop off their used trees at 12 locations throughout Long Beach, at no charge.

A message for all from Mayor Richardson:

TODAY is the LAST DAY to register to vote and receive a ballot in the MAIL!

Voting is an important civic responsibility and essential way for you and your neighbors to have your say in your community.

Registering to vote is easy and takes no longer than a few minutes. You can register, check your status, and make a plan to vote at lavote.gov

Once you are registered and receive your ballot, you can return it by signing the return envelope and putting it in the mail or any one of hundreds of ballot drop boxes across Los Angeles County. You can also drop it off at any Vote Center starting this Saturday, October 26th.
