Welcome to the Long Beach Data Science Learning Community! We are a vibrant and inclusive hub, dedicated to empowering racially-minoritized students and communities through the exciting world of data science. Our mission? To foster engagement, mentorship, and research experiences for underrepresented high school, community college, and university students, alongside the professional development of educators.

🚀 Our Objectives: ✨ Build a diverse Data Science community in Long Beach, uniting students, instructors, and researchers to work on projects that resonate with communities of color in our city. ✨ Forge a pathway for students from Introduction to Data Science (IDS) courses at LBUSD high schools to advanced degrees at CSULB, paving the way for careers in Data Science. ✨ Develop curricula at CSULB and LBCC that focus on the priorities and challenges faced by communities of color in Long Beach. ✨ Empower LBUSD teachers and LBCC/CSULB faculty with ongoing professional development to effectively teach Data Science.
