Producer Highlight: Beaty Cattle Company

Established in 1988, Beaty Cattle Company is a family-owned operation in Wills Point, Texas, founded by John Douglas Beaty and Doug Beaty and now proudly operated by Doug alongside his daughter, Mary-Katherine. Built on a foundation of quality cattle, hard work, and family values, the operation focuses on producing functional, productive cattle that excel in both commercial and show-ring settings.

Their commercial herd consists primarily of Black Brangus Baldy females bred to SimAngus and Brahman bulls, with an emphasis on developing durable replacement females. In recent years, Beaty Cattle Company has expanded its genetics program through IVF and elite Brahman genetics, producing donor females that have earned Grand and Reserve Grand Champion honors at major shows across Texas. Through strategic breeding decisions and a commitment to continuous improvement, the Beaty family continues to raise cattle that add value for commercial producers while carrying forward a proud family legacy in the cattle industry.

This week, we’re featuring the Sampson family of Live Oak, Florida, a three generation cattle operation committed to raising pasture raised beef and lamb while caring for the land that sustains them.

From regenerative grazing practices to direct to consumer marketing, the Sampson family is passionate about connecting families with the people behind their food. Their story reminds us that agriculture is about more than producing food. It’s about stewardship, education, and creating a legacy for future generations.
