At the recent ISTE Live 26 conference, a conference all about education technology, the Center for Digital Education wrote this article about meeting the new digital accessibility guidelines. Some of our team members at the National Center on Accessible Digital Education Materials & Instruction (NCADEMI) were there. In the article Christopher Phillips, a Technical Assistance Specialist at NCADEMI, talks about digital accessibility in education.

Christopher was quoted talking about how administrators and leaders should "ask vendors for a Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT), a document in which a vendor explains how their product meets accessibility standards."

Christopher goes on to say that "'Part of what this does is really provide some clarity around, what are the specific requirements that the vendor wants to be accessible?' he said, adding that a VPAT can serve as a blueprint for any ed-tech developer who wants to ensure their tool is accessible."
