This session focuses on building strong, collaborative working relationships between paraeducators, special education and general education teachers through clear “rules of engagement.” Participants will explore the key characteristics of effective teamwork, develop a deeper understanding of roles and professional responsibilities, and examine how individual work styles impact team dynamics. Emphasis will be placed on following a team-based approach to instruction under the guidance of licensed professionals, while using reflective practices to strengthen teamwork. Attendees will leave with practical strategies to enhance communication and problem solving, build mutual respect, and contribute to a more effective and cohesive team environment.

"Paraeducator Roles and Responsibilities" will be presented by Christine Manning.

In this session, we will empower you with knowledge that spans across multiple areas of special education. We will look at the difference between 504's and IEP's and how the paraeducator can support student success. We will discuss a variety of ways the paraeducator can support the students they work with in the general education setting with regard to the 504, IEP, Title I, behavior plan, and more.
